Susanne West, M.A., CHT is a coach, hypnotherapist, teacher and workshop leader. She has worked with individuals and groups for over twenty five years, specializing in psychospiritual growth and transformation, writing and creative development. Susanne is a Professor of Psychology and is on the faculty of the School of Education and Liberal Arts and the School of Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University. She teaches classes in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology, Creativity and Intuition, The Psychology of Relationships: Codependence and Addiction, Personality and Psychotherapy and Psychosynthesis. She is also an instructor at the Center for Hypnotherapy and was on the faculty of the Psychosynthesis Training Program for nine years. Susanne is the recipient of the Harry L. Morrison Distinguished Teaching Award at JFKU.

As former Chair of the Department of Liberal Arts and Director of the BA Psychology program at JFKU, as well as being a graduate advisor at Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center, Susanne brings over twelve years of administrative experience to her hypnotherapy and coaching practice. In addition to helping clients tap into their inner resources and overcome obstacles, she helps clients set realistic goals, stay on track with their goals and visions and manage time wisely. She has also been a successful business owner for over twenty years.

Susanne has developed numerous techniques for awakening creative, intuitive and spiritual potentials and overcoming creative obstacles, such as writer's block. She has created programs such as the Creativity Awakening Process, The Soul of Caregiving™, Opening the Writer's Gate workshops and seminars, the Transformational Writing Process and the Psychosynthesis Addiction, Recovery and Spirituality Process. She presents these programs in colleges, community organizations and private settings.

Susanne lives happily with her husband, John, in San Rafael, California. She works to practice what she teaches.
